Bring on 2021!

This will be the first time in my life that I’ve made New Year Resolutions, but to be perfectly honest, they aren’t really resolutions. They’re just plans and goals. I’m invigorated by the support and success of the last two years and am feeling pretty positive about what 2021 will hold.

I want to start by taking a moment to honor the memory of two friends 2020 claimed, well before their time. Thanks for the memories, Carebear and Rachial. You are loved and you are missed.

I made in December 2018 so I count 2019 as its first year. As you can see, it’s shown significant growth, more than doubling traffic since last year. In 2021, I hope to continue to grow the site to support indie authors in their journey. I also want to work expanding this site (sahrethbaphhybowden), which I just created.

I started 2020 just shy of having rated/reviewed 100 indie books on Goodreads, Amazon, and I had originally hoped to make it closer to 200 by the end of the year, but with everything going on… At any rate, a hard goal for 2021 is to reach 200 and a soft goal is to reach 230. I have read so many great books that deserve to be discovered and met a wonderful community of supportive authors. I hope 2021 will be just as fantastic.

As far as my own writing endeavors, 2021 will see the release of the last book in my Visitor’s Blood trilogy, which will be self-published. If financial situations level out, I will be starting payments again to the narrator who I hired to create the audiobooks for the series.

I aim to finish two WIPs and seek representation for them from a traditional publisher. They may wind up being self-published as well, but for the foreseeable future, I will be looking for a publishing house. After these are written, I’ll pick up steam on other WIPs, though I have no timeline for when I want to finish them or whether I’ll seek representation or self-publish.

I will still be continuing writing short stories and plan to submit them to various magazines, collections, and contests. I’ll also be commissioning artwork for the Visitor’s Blood series in order to create a wiki page for that universe. The artist is a favorite and a friend who has agreed to illustrate my rewrite of a children’s book I made for my little sister when I was a teen. We’ll be discussing that, but I can’t yet determine when work will begin.

So there you have it. I hope 2021 meets you all with kindness and lack of hardship. You deserve it after this Hell of a year. Have a fantastic day!
